What signs matter? How do doctors confirm <strong>necrotizing enterocolitis<\/strong>? What does recovery look like? Let\u2019s go step by step, in clear medical terms.<\/p> <h2 id=\"understandingnecrotizingenterocolitisinnewborns\">Understanding necrotizing enterocolitis in newborns<\/h2> <h3 id=\"whatnecrotizingenterocolitisissimpledefinition\">What necrotizing enterocolitis is (simple definition)<\/h3> <p><strong>Necrotizing enterocolitis<\/strong> is an acute inflammatory disease of a newborn\u2019s intestine. Inflammation means the bowel wall becomes swollen and irritated. In some babies, the lining gets injured enough to lose its protective barrier (the wall becomes leaky).
